I have played Frisbee myself for a number of years. It is a sport anyone can play. You can do it recreationally or as a team. In Arnhem we formed a team called "Arnhemse Meisjes M/V" (Arnhem Girls M/F). The name is a reference to the fact the teams can consist of girls and boys. The ratio of boys and girls is not determined anywhere. In competition there is also no referee. Fair play is a very important part of the sport. In the Netherlands the teams of Amsterdam (Red Lights), Utrecht (UFO) and Rotterdam (Airbreakers) where among the top teams. I enjoyed watching the games of these top teams. Unbelievable how they could play around with the disc and how fast. For years it was my favourite pastime to show of our frisbee skills in summer at the Willemsplein or playing Frisbee Golf in Sonsbeek park. I coached our team at many tournaments. We never won a tournament, but we did win the Spirit of the Game award a couple of times. The Spirit of the Game is what counted most for me. I even managed to dig up one of the trophies we won at the 1991 tournament in Wageningen at WAF.
